Statement by Warden Mark Lovshin in response to tragedy in Humboldt, Saskatchewan

“Residents across Northumberland are expressing heartbreak at the tragic accident that took the lives of 16 people and injured 14 others in Humboldt, Saskatchewan on Friday.

Hockey is our national pastime; all Canadians have a connection to this game. Northumberland County therefore stands in solidarity with Humboldt, as we mourn for the team and the community who have suffered such a tremendous loss.

On behalf of County Council, staff, and the entire Northumberland community, I offer our most heartfelt wishes of support for the injured in recovery, and our sincerest condolences to the families and friends who have lost loved ones.”
