Mission Statement

Our mission is to assist the County's operating departments to achieve the most effective, efficient business operations and to champion a safe and productive workplace environment through leading-edge human resource management practices. 

Service Description

The County's Human Resources department creates and implements policies and practices to effectively organize and manage all human capital resources in the workplace with the ultimate goal of retaining and attracting high quality staff. We believe our people are our most important resource and we try to implement programs and practices designed to align with the County's Strategic Plan.

The practice of human resource management at the County includes providing advice to internal clients (managers and employees) in matters pertaining to employee and labour relations, recruitment and selection, employee health and wellness and corporate training and development; administration of payroll and compensation and benefits; program development and evaluation in areas such as attendance and performance; and maintaining or enhancing relations between employees or between managers and employees.
